WHODAT!

Still a Tiger

I found this shirt in my parent’s coat closet & thought I should wear it for today’s Iron Bowl. I’m not normally an Auburn supporter, but I’m always a Tide hater. Go Tigers!

LSU vs Florida

I made a quick trip to Louisiana this weekend and was able to catch the LSU-Florida game.  My good friend Dave called me on Thursday to tell me that he scored a ticket for me.  While I already had planned to make the trip to attend a wedding with Blanche, this news changed everything!

Number 1 ranked Florida came to town to play Number 4 ranked LSU, which made for the first top 5 matchup in Tiger Stadium in 50 years.  The game had been sold out for weeks and the campus was crawling with more people than I had ever seen.  We arrived on campus early enough to tailgate, and were also lucky enough to have the connections to get into a VIP tailgate party and eat well before entering the stadium.  Our seats were great – 2nd row above Florida’s entrance tunnel.  There was lots of yelling at Tebow, Meyer and all of the other Gators.

The only thing that could have made the game better would have been an LSU win.

It's that time of year again

Not only am I excited about college football & NFL to start their seasons, but my boys are starting their fall season of sports.  Austin had his first soccer practice yesterday with his new team.  And Jackson will have his first flag football meeting this coming week.  They are both excited, as am I, to see them out on the field having fun.

Austin did great at his first practice.  He can move his short little legs really fast and can run faster than most of the boys on his team.  He’s a natural with his coordination and had no problem running the drills that the coaches introduced to the boys for the first time.  I had a lot of fun watching.

Here’s to the next 8 weeks of 4 days of practices per week.  Plus 2 games per weekend.

Ballplayer quote

"The difference between the old ballplayer and the new ballplayer is the jersey. The old ballplayer cared about the name on the front. The new ballplayer cares about the name on the back."

Can't wait for Friday…

LSU has been ruling the scene in Omaha at the College World Series since they've arrived.  I expect nothing less from them on Friday as they prepare to play the winner of the Arkansas/Virginia game.  And yes, LSU has already beaten both of these teams this past week.  If they win on Friday, they will play in the Championship.  Geaux!
