Austin’s Graduation
Austin has finished Kindergarten, and I have to say that he’s done quite the growing up this year. I know that this is normal for his age (Jackson changed a lot at this age), but it seems harder to believe with Austin, probably because he has been the baby for so long.
He is doing well with his reading, is aware of so much more of the world around him, and is Mr. Personality. In the past year, he’s played soccer, basketball and T-ball – and has excelled at each. While his behavior wasn’t the best in his class, I’m hoping that there is a little bit of maturing over the summer so we can get through 1st grade with a few less color changes on his behavior chart.
He can be thoughtful, helpful and very sweet when he wants to be. It’s amazing to me to watch his little personality develop (which is SO different from his brother’s) into the little man that he is becoming. I can’t wait to see how he is as a BIG brother come October!
Watermelon!
We had a great time outdoors this weekend. Saturday started out with Austin’s T-ball practice, then we took the boys to a friend’s pool and we spent most of the afternoon there. On Sunday we met some friends from church at Cameron Park -we ate dinner there (along with some watermelon), and played some wiffle ball and frisbie.
A relaxing weekend was just what we needed. Things have been so busy lately. After patiently waiting for a couple of weeks I finally found out that my teacher’s contract would be renewed for next year (after they decided not to renew about 200 teachers from our district due to government budget cuts). I recently accepted a part-time position at a church here in the area to be their Director of Music and will begin that post in May. Also, after about 6 months of looking into it, I’ve decided to pursue becoming a Financial Advisor/Asset Manager, and have signed on with Capital Choice Finance Group. Oh, and I’m also currently working on my Master’s Degree in Music with Kent State University!
On a different note, Blanche seems to be doing well with the pregnancy. Nausea is still part of her day and she is tired all of the time, but things seem to be normal. She is handling it very well. We hope to find out the sex of the baby in June. She has just been hired to work for the same school district as me for next school year, and will be finding out details soon. The boys are doing well in school and are staying busy with that and baseball/tennis. Our house plans are coming along and the builders are saying we should be in by August. So in a few months life will look a lot different. Our first year of marriage has been busy but great, and God is blessing us as we continue to get settled and grow as a family.
Here’s Austin from Saturday for his baseball pictures.
